I don’t think I can necessarily sum up 2012 in one word, so I suppose “crazy” will have to do. The past year has- without a doubt- been a year filled with change. For starters, Fashion completely changed roles in my life and switched from hobby to career. I started many new projects including leaving my old blog, net vignette, behind, and making a fresh start with this blog. I boldly (and a little too impulsively) quit my job working at a pharmacy and joined the Poppy Magazine team before the first issue launched in June.

Poppy has been such a great experience. I’ve met some wonderful people along the way: the team, inspirational people that I’ve had the opportunity to interview and get to know like Alisha Trimble, Cate Parr, and Erika Wasser, and some incredibly talented fashion bloggers. We’ve published 3 great issues, and with our new “blogazine” format, you can get your Poppy fix everyday!

I started many new projects in 2012 in addition to Poppy. I started freelance writing consistently- an opportunity that has proved both challenging and rewarding. I took Holly Becker’s (decor8) Blogging Your Way Boot Camp course, and strongly recommend that all bloggers take it! It’s not only a great way to learn how to take your blog to the next level, it’s a great way to meet other bloggers just like you. One of my most exciting projects this year was becoming a brand ambassador for ban.do at the end of October. I am happy to spread my love of all things sparkly with the world and make one person feel pretty one glittery hair accessory at a time.

I can’t say I’m sad to see 2012 go; when the clock struck 12:00, I couldn’t help but sigh with relief. My blog has become more of a personal journal than I planned or expected it to; the events of the year also kept me away from my blog more than I would have liked. In September, I wrote about how a little ban.do bling helps distract during difficult times. In Seeking Scandinavian Simplicity, I expressed my desire to connect with my Swedish heritage and explore my roots through design. I even explored my love for fashion in Staying Connected.
There’s plenty of change in motion already for the new year. The new and improved Poppy Magazine launched today, I’m in the middle of re-branding Study on Style, I’ll be moving over the next 2 weeks, and I have plenty of surprises in store!

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
